Enter The Night Podcast EP001

For a long time I’ve tried to figure out what I should do next. I’ve spent 6 years making my Nightfall Podcast, did 26 Salutes episodes while traveling, and shared a bunch of mixes to promote events. After returning from Nepal I spent my time looking around. What I want is a new concept to captivate you in a musical journey. Taking you into much deeper sounds, ready to hypnotize you. Sounds understood beyond language, race, color, and any other words used to divide us.

How to set the mood is underestimated. I see fellow artists make their podcasts as if it’s peaktime. Like really, opening the set with deephouse pitched up to 128 BPM?

The secret ingredient.

Rudy Lime Salutes Podcast
Remember my Salutes podcast? In those episodes I brought you along on my travels. By showing the locations I was at and sharing music with you, my goal was to give you a 1-hour journey as well. In total I released 26 themed episodes in 2015-2016, divided over 14 different trips. With launching Enter The Night I’m planning to create something much more diverse, find out below how that sounds.

What I miss is the person who sets the direction. The person who defines the tone. How to set the mood is underestimated. I see fellow artists make their podcasts as if it’s peaktime. Like really, opening the set with deephouse pitched up to 128 BPM? But I see it clearly now, even though I’ve known and said it for many years. Building the vibe from scratch and sparking the audience to come together in one flow is taken for granted. And maintaining a flow while playing an all-nighter, now that’s an art.

It’s experiencing a story.

I believe in the power of story telling. I believe sharing one’s vision can spark creativity in others. A DJ set should be an in-the-moment experience. But a podcast is not a DJ set. A podcast is something you listen to while doing everyday stuff. Wether that’s during commuting to work, while working out at the gym, or when you’re cleaning up at home. Maybe you’re the office jerk who pumps it out of the speakers there, or you play it at home where everyone has gathered, ready to go out raving. You need music that sets the mood and allows you to do what you’re supposed to do.  Something that creates atmosphere, yet doesn’t draw too much attention. There’s no need to play peak-time music in a podcast. So in my newest installment, I’m stepping back and focus on the journey that I become part of when you tune in to my music. Your journey.

Enter the Night.

A perfect blend taking you from progressive to techno, a 1-hour exploration in sound between your daylife and your freedom of the night. Press play at twilight, and allow the music to dream you away for the next hour. Do you need to escape? Say no more. Let the music be your drug. No jingles. No bullshit. Just music. Embark with me on the first episode of Enter the Night.

Note: the Enter the Night podcast episodes are crafted for your experience. They do not necessarily reflect how my live DJ performances will sound.
